Work is an unfortunate fact of life. But when you’re retired, you can pursue what you love. For Sue Monteith, her love is to travel, to enjoy new experiences. When she’s not in Music Hall, traversing the aisles and hallways as a Tour Guide, she’s headed out on an adventure. Her travels have taken her from the spectacular Fjords in Norway to exploring Christmas markets along the Danube River.
Sue’s first career was teaching. When she left that profession, she pursued and received her MBA. Her company moved Sue nine times during her career. Of all the places she’s lived, Sue decided Cincinnati would be her home.
When she’s not “on the road,” Sue can be found playing the Dulcimer, or in The Taft Museum of Art, where she’s a docent, or reading and conducting research.
Sue feels that being a Friends of Music Hall Volunteer gives her the opportunity to combine her favorite things. She signed up in July 2017 and supports FMH as a Tour Guide, conducting research on various aspects of Music Hall’s history. As a volunteer, Sue feels this takes her back to her first love – teaching. She shares Music Hall history, both with groups in the community through our Speakers Series, and around the building during Music Hall tours.
