Program Volunteers

Program Volunteers are committed, caring and valuable to the success of the Friends of Music Hall and the Tour and Education Outreach Program.

They are representatives of the Friends of Music Hall as well as ambassadors for the other resident companies of Cincinnati Music Hall, including the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Pops, Cincinnati Opera, Cincinnati Ballet, and the May Festival.

Volunteers understand their responsibility is to always represent the organizations in a positive and presentable manner.

Friends of Music Hall volunteers are welcome to assist in a variety of ways

Program Guide Volunteers provide a deeper appreciation of the history of Cincinnati Music Hall through professional and entertaining tour and outreach experiences.

  • learn and lead in-depth, knowledgeable, professional and entertaining tours
  • learn and lead outreach programming for guests of all ages
  • continually strive to improve tours and techniques to engage their audience
  • represent the organization at Friends of Music Hall events

Schedules for Program Guides are flexible. Tours, both indoor and outdoor, are generally are conducted weekdays and Saturdays between 9am and 3pm. Occasionally tours occur on Sundays and evenings.

Content Curator Volunteers develop tour products and information that is entertaining, always factual and provides a deeper appreciation of the history of Cincinnati Music Hall.

Content Curators:

  • work on pre-approved assignments
  • gather well-researched, credible source cited information
  • craft engaging narratives
  • help bring Cincinnati Music Hall's relevance to present day audiences
  • analyze and evaluate their products, including guest feedback
  • represent the organization at Friends of Music Hall events

Although not directly involved with product delivery, Content Curators work closely with Program Guides to further their knowledge of Music Hall.

Schedules for Content Curators are flexible. Most work from home.

Friends of Music Hall Volunteers can be involved in the positions listed above, or support the organization's mission as Office Administrators or Event Assistants.

These positions also have flexible hours and involves:

  • office duties such as filing and database updates
  • marketing outreach
  • assisting at special events such as Mighty Wurlitzer organ concerts with merchandise sales

As a Friends of Music Hall volunteer, you can make a difference in the lives of many people. Even better, professionals who volunteer can hone their skills, build their resumes, and expand their networks.
